Windows 7 Save As Bug

Last night I was trying to save two files with same name and then came up with a bug on Windows 7. Bug on Windows 7? Yes, it is called a bug as far as I know. If you delete the file within the save as pop up, you cannot save your file with the same name directly from the save as pop up, it thinks file still exists. I attached a short recording of my experience, leave your comment if you think this is not a bug but a feature.

Symantec Confidence Online Utility Driver Windows 7 Problem

Yesterday I installed Symantec Endpoint Protection to my Windows 7 Professional. Nonetheless, the "Confidence Online Utility Driver" does not work on Windows 7. On the Symantec site it is said that this problem will be solved in a couple of week. Then, we are watching them... FYI http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/sep-driver-crashing-windows-7-x64 UPDATE: Here how I solved it; just uninstalled the antivirus software and then reinstalled it. Works fine right now.

Blue Screen on Windows 7 RC

Image
Last week I did not shut down my computer on Friday in order to be able connect to it on Sunday night(now:)). Nonetheless, all the programs that I opened before I leave, are gone! And a beautiful error message is the only window on the screen. But I can accept that since this is an RC software.

Windows 7 RC JRE Problem on Internet Browsers

Yesterday I installed the latest version of JDK as 1.6.0_16 into Windows 7 RC(64 bit). It installed without any problems and from command prompt it displays the java version right. C:\Users\sarp>java -version java version "1.6.0_16" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_16-b01) However, the applets are not working within browsers(IE, Firefox, Chrome). After a short search I downloaded the version JRE as 1.6.0_14 and browsers start to work with the applets. When I type version of Java, I get this; C:\Users\sarp>java -version java version "1.6.0_16" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_16-b01) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.2-b01, mixed mode) Then if your applets are not working in the browsers of Windows 7 RC, you can try to do what I did to overcome this annoying problem.

Windows 7 RC on ThinkPad T43p

Image
Alright, in my philosophy if something new is out there, it is always worth to take a look at it. When I see that Windows 7 RC is available, I downloaded Ultimate version immediately from the MSDN. From my first personal impression, it is far(visual design, multi-touch capability, and efficiency while using resources) better than Vista(which I really dislike). On my laptop, Windows 7 RC Ultimate works in great performance. Although, I cannot say it is faster than XP Professional, it is adequate to work on. In the attached image, ratings of my ThinkPad T43p is given.
