Is this a real BMW? Is i3 competing with Tesla?

Today, BMW announced its new i3 fully electric car. I watched its promotion video on Bloomberg TV and on The Telegraph, here is my comment: "Is this a joke?".

Pros: Interesting interior
Cons: Everything else (looks ugly, does not drive long distance (old tech?!), not sporty and looks cheap) 

I am not a bimmer but I like BMW 3, 4, 5 series but I have to confess that this i3 model is a fail! Look at the bright side, it is time to invest in Tesla stock!!
